Butch Sidman

George “Butch” Sidman is vice president / consultant with Akabis, Inc. He has nearly 40 years of telecom experience, and has held senior network and operational positions with three major Telco companies. He spent 29 years with ALLTEL, holding positions as corporate vice president for network support, corporate vice president for network planning and president of operations for ALLTEL Carolina.

Butch’s work history includes direct involvement with multiple mergers and acquisitions including handling due diligence, contract review and preparation and the execution of the network transition. He also has wide experience in vendor contract negotiation, asset swaps between major telecommunications companies, and union contracts with organized labor. He has extensive experience with P&L performance, operations, service delivery, short- and long-term planning, network operation centers and customer care. Butch is active in various industry venues including MetaSwith Forum and VON.
